Abuja – Senator Adams Oshiomhole, former governor of Edo State, issued a fiery challenge to veteran journalist Dr. Reuben Abati during a live appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, calling on the broadcaster to confront him physically over repeated criticisms.
In a blunt exchange, Oshiomhole accused Abati of harboring resentment over his failed bid to become deputy governor in Ogun State and using media platforms to attack him.
“If you are angry because you wanted to be a deputy governor and you lost an election in Ogun State, is that the reason you are paranoid, using every opportunity to abuse me?” Oshiomhole said during the interview. “If you want to abuse me, don’t hide behind the TV; let’s meet in the street and fight it out.”
The senator’s comments have sparked widespread reaction across political and media circles, with many expressing concern over the escalation of rhetoric between public figures. As of press time, Dr. Abati has not responded publicly to Oshiomhole’s remarks.
