As part of ways to ease the burden of hardship on the people of Khana Local Government Area, the Khana CTC Chairman of the council Amb. Marvin Yobana through the Rivers State Government has provided free medical treatment to 61 communities at the Taabaa Health Centre in Nyo-Khana District of Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The Free Medical Outreach programme organized by the Khana LGA CTC Chairman, Ambassador Marvin Yobana was flagged- off at the Taabaa Health Centre in Nyo-Khana District of Khana Local Government Area, Rivers State, last Friday August 9, 2024.
According to the CTC chairman, Amb. Marvin Yobana, “The free medical outreach is borne out of the Acting Chairman of the Traditional Rulers of Nyo-Khana District, Mene S.M.K Nule II, Eedee I of Bua Baah’s demand on the abandonment of the hospital by successive past governments which had led to so many health challenges confronting the people of Nyo-Khana District, while appealing to the Rivers State government to come to their aid by revamping the abandoned District hospital, which according to him, is larger than the Bori Zonal hospital, so as to ameliorate the health challenges confronting the people in that district.”
“We had to consider the appeal made by the Acting Traditional Ruler, His Royal Highness, Mene M.S.K Nule II, during that our first in history of the LGA, an Interactive session organized for Traditional Rulers, CD Chairmen, Youth Leaders, security personnel, among others.
“We want to thank the Rivers State Governor, His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara GSSRS, who graciously granted us this platform to positively impact on the lives of our people in the LGA. We hope to do more within the remaining few days we have left to be in office, so that we can replicate same Programme in Ken-Khana and Babbe Districts respectively,” Amb Yobana added.
On her part, a member of the Khana CTC, the Supervisor for Women Affairs, Chief (Mrs) Charity Deemua stated that His Excellency the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara GSSR is a health loving Governor, who has decided that free healthcare out reach be taken to the door steps of the people.
In his response, the Acting Chairman, Nyo-Khana Kingdom, Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Highness, High Chief Mene M.S.K Nule II, Mene Eedee I, Bua Baah, commended the leadership style of Marvin Yobana, saying that the free medical outreach in the district is first of it’s kind in the history of Nyo-Khana.
