The Special Assistant to President Muhammdu Buhari on social media, Lauretta Onochie has debunked reports that the the £4.2 million James Ibori loot has been paid to the Delta State Government.
Accountant General of the federation, Ahmed Idris had in a statement on Tuesday, said the money has been sent to Delta State.
However, Onochie in a post on her social media handle on Wednesday, said no money has been transferred to the Government of Delta State.
She said an agreement was reached with the UK Government and if those conditions are not met, the country may not receive huge amounts of the loot.
”…The British High Commissioner is also keeping an open eye on those projects…. If we break the conditions for getting this chicken amount, how do we get the elephant amount that is still coming?” she said.
“We know what we heard but we also know the facts. Let me remind us. Before we start “admonishing, praising and decamping”, let’s pause for a minute and breathe in and out,” she added.
Chief Press Secretary to the Delta State Governor, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, also confirmed in a statement on Wednesday that no money has been paid to the Government.
