No fewer than 21 persons have lost their lives, while 144 others sustained various degrees of injuries in road crashes that occurred across Anambra State between January and October 2025.
The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra State, Bridget Asekhauno, disclosed this in Awka while giving an update on road safety activities in the state.
Asekhauno said the fatalities were recorded in several accidents resulting from excessive speeding, dangerous overtaking, and violation of traffic rules by motorists.
She noted that the corps had intensified public enlightenment campaigns, routine patrols, and enforcement operations to curb road crashes, especially as the year-end festivities approach.
The sector commander further appealed to drivers and road users to obey traffic regulations and ensure their vehicles are in good condition before embarking on any journey.
She reaffirmed the FRSC’s commitment to reducing road accidents and ensuring safer highways across the state.
