Hon. Charles Okey Anyanwu has declared his intention to contest the Rivers East Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement addressed to the people of the district, Anyanwu said the decision followed extensive consultations with leaders, youths, women, and other stakeholders across the communities within the senatorial district.
He noted that his aspiration was driven by a desire to serve the people and provide stronger representation in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
According to him, Rivers East deserves effective representation that prioritises the welfare of the people, youth empowerment, support for women, and sustainable development.Anyanwu also called on residents of the district to remain actively engaged in the democratic process by obtaining their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) ahead of the next electoral cycle.
He expressed optimism that with collective support and constructive engagement, the district could achieve greater development and prosperity.
The aspirant further urged the people to pray for the success of the vision while pledging to amplify the voices of the constituents if elected.
