The 2025 Bonny Island Marathon (BIM) is set to take place on Saturday, December 20, 2025, as preparations intensify for the annual sporting event.
Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Amasenibo Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, DSSRS, has endorsed the marathon, pledging the Council’s full support to ensure its success.
Hon. Pepple gave the assurance while receiving the organizers, led by Team Lead Boma Halliday, at the Council Secretariat on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. He commended their commitment to promoting sports, tourism, and youth development in Bonny.
Now in its 9th edition, the Bonny Island Marathon has continued to attract attention locally and internationally, serving as a platform to showcase the island’s hospitality and vibrant culture.
