The Rivers State Civil Society Organization, RIVCSO, has dismissed report making the rounds that it has endorsed some candidates in the 2023 general elections.
RIVCSO, in a statement today, said it has not endorsed anyone, and will not do so, because they are apolitical.
According to the statement, part of the job of RIVCSO, is to ensure that aspirants and political parties take up programs that will better the lives of Nigerians,
The statement reads,
GENERAL NOTICE
Members of RIVCSO who chose to get involved in politics or support their ethnic or religious candidates, shouldn’t participate or address the Press in the name of the coalition.
For the avoidance of doubt, it’s the job of RIVCSO to task all aspirants and their parties to take up programs that will better the lives of Rivers people and Nigerians.
Failure to do the above, leadership will be left with no other choice than to join issues with such a person publicly and equally expel the person from the organization as guaranteed in our constitution.
