The Christian Association of Nigeria, Rivers South East Senatorial District has reportedly endorse presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.
Spokesperson of the PDP presidential campaign council in the state, Leleonu Nwibubasa disclosed this in a statement Today.
His statement reads,
RIVERS SOUTH EAST SENATORIAL DISTRICT MINISTERS FORUM ENDORSES THE PDP PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE ALHAJI ATIKU ABUBAKAR..
It was a prophetical atmosphere as clerics and christian faithful register their displeasure over the incessant and unprovocative attack on the body of Christ by adversaries of the nation.
The groups under the aegis of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Rivers South East Senatorial District and the Ogoni Minister Peace advocacy forum stated this during an interactive session with the spokesman of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council in Rivers State DR. LELOONU NWIBUBASA.
The Coordinator of CAN Andoni chapter, DR. JAMES EGBE urged voters to be more conscious and intentional during and after the electioneering period.
DR. JAMES EGBE said the idea of selling a Muslim Muslim ticket to Rivers people is non negotiable, unjustifiable and can only spell doom to the christian faithful across Nigeria.
He said this singular act demonstrated by the PDP Atiku-Okowa candidate attracted the resolve of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Rivers South East Senatorial District and the Ogoni Minister Peace advocacy forum to throw it’s weight behind a more balanced and de-tribalized ticket.
For his part,the President,Ogoni Ministers Peace advocacy forum, DR. JOSEPH JOHNGBO said the nation has suffered from disunity in all aspect, ethnically and along religious lines.
Dr. JOSEPH JOHNGBO said “we can’t afford to allow the next generation go through this horrendous experience we’ve had for almost 8 years”.
The country needs a nationalist,detrabalized leader, unifier, peace. we need religion and ethnic tolerance,we need a Nigeria for Nigerians he said.
In response, the Spokesman of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council in Rivers State DR. LELOONU NWIBUBASA said the PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar is best suited for the job.
DR. Leloonu Nwibubasa went further to highlight the numerous economic benefits Rivers people tend to enjoy as a people which include the opening of the regions sea ports, the proposed cargo airport in the Rivers southeast Senatorial district and job creation.
He said Atiku Abubakar presidency will make life easier and better for Rivers people.
