A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Jude Ubani, has called on the Minister of Transportation and former Governor of Rivers State, Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to contest the 2023 presidential election.
Ubani, in a statement described Amaechi as a workaholic who can turn things around.
He also said Amaechi has revived the once dead rail transport with massive allied benefits in the economy.
He compared the current state of security in the country to what played out in Rivers state, with the menace of cultism prior to Amaechi’s swearing-in as Governor in 2007, adding that he fought it to a standstill.
He added that Nigeria needs an Amaechi who will massively invest in human capital development by prioritizing education in the North and other parts of the country to solve our security challenges.
“With my experience in the private sector and community leadership, i dare say that “bullets will kill a criminal but education will kill criminality,” he said.
“Nigeria needs an Amaechi whose investments in education of Rivers children, earned the state the status of a UNESCO World Book Capital,” he added.
