Vice president Yemi Osibanjo has reportedly informed President, Muhammadu Buhari of his presidential ambition.
Daily Trust reports that sources informed them of the development, and that the VP also said, he wants to succeed his Boss to consolidate on the achievements of his administration.
“VP Osinbajo has told the president that he wants to succeed him,” one of our sources said.
“The vice president had first consulted some prominent Nigerians who encouraged him to vie for the presidency and they also encouraged him to tell the president himself.
“They told him not to allow a third party to tell the president so that the ambition will not be misconstrued,” he added.
Meanwhile, political analysts have said that the development, will pitch the VP against his former Boss, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who had earlier declared his intentions to run for the same office in 2023.
