Following the declaration by Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi to contest the 2023 presidential election, more persons are now making their 2023 ambitions known.
The latest, being former Governor of Lagos State and current Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola.
According to Tolu Ogunlesi, special assistant on digital/new media to President Muhammadu Buhari, Fashola made his intentions known when he was asked by a journalist about his plans for 2023.
He said, Fashola who had through his media aide, said he was focused on delivering the mandate of his ministry and would not be distracted, replied the journalist by stating that he was “running for the president of his House.”
“I am running for the president of my home. I’m going to Lagos. My wife and children are waiting for their president. All those who want to run, I wish them the very best of luck. For those looking for headlines, I have disappointed you,” Fashola was quoted to have said.
