The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed a gas explosion which injured about 20 persons at Orazi in Port Harcourt on Saturday.
Spokesperson of the Police Command, Grace Koko in a statement said the incident was caused by a technician using a gas cylinder to repair a fridge.
“Yes I can confirm the incident. It was a technician repairing a Fridge carrying a gas cylinder to weld the fridge when it exploded,” she said.
We gathered that about 20 persons including a pregnant woman and four children were injured and rushed to the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital.
