The Federal Road Safety Corp in Rivers State, has warned motorists in the state against drinking and driving during and after the yuletide.
FRSC Commandant in the state, Sanunsi Galadunci gave the warning while giving an update on the number of reported road crashes recorded in the state in 2022.
According to him, a total of 85 road crashes were recorded from January to October in the state, and 16 persons lost their lives.
He revealed that the state recorded the lowest number of car crashes amongst states that recorded road crashes in the country.
Sanusi also stated that a total of 14000 traffic violators were arrested with over 2000 traffic offences recorded.
He warned drivers to be careful while driving, and not to be carried away by the season, as only living persons celebrate.
